HILTON HEAD ISLAND SC - Mrs. Rosemary (Tyke) Katherine Filippone Arsenault, born June 5,1929 in Oakville, Connecticut, passed away at age 88, April 7, 2018 on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
She was the youngest of five children born to the late Albert and Julia Filippone. She was preceded in death by her siblings; Albert Filippone, Robert Filippone, Dorothy Urling and Carol Martinelli. In 1947, she graduated from Watertown High School, and in 1952 she graduated from Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
Throughout their life, Tyke and Bob traveled the world together and took much delight from their home on the Atlantic Ocean, where many memorable family celebrations took place and lasting friendships were forged as they opened their home to Hilton Head Heroes families with children with life altering illnesses. Rosemary was blessed to have adoring grandchildren and great grandchildren and took every chance to spoil them to their delight. Her giving spirit and service as a nurse inspired both her daughter, daughter in law and granddaughter as they also choose to have careers in nursing. While she cherished many pets, Taffy, Muffin, and Phoebe held a special place in her heart. In her later years, she was blessed with devoted caregivers that provided her comfort and laughter at home. Rosemary will long be remembered as a loving, kind, and giving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Robert Louis Arsenault, five children and their families; Robert Arsenault, and son Rafael Foster; Gary Arsenault, and daughter Melissa and husband Philip Lohman; Lauren and husband Stuart Terrett and children Stuart and Kate Terrett, Andrew Terrett, and Juliana and Savannah Schepp; Steven and wife Deborah Arsenault and children, Robert Arsenault, Steven and Porsche Arsenault and children Atreyu Cantrell, Artemis and Olivia Rosemary Arsenault; and Richard and son Nicolas Arsenault.
Funeral services for Mrs Arsenault will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 when a Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Buckingham St Oakville CT at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with Rosemary’s family on Saturday morning at the church from 10:00 till 11:00 a.m. To honor Rosemary’s memory, donations may be made to The Hilton Head Humane Association, 10 Humane Way Hilton Head SC 29926.
